I am still wondering why it was so hard this time...

It has been one of the hardest summer schools we have run so far. Every day I was wondering what was going on? The children got fired up as usual, but they were so tired. Quite unusual I thought… I was wondering what we could do about it… Everything we tried ended up with a request from our best students… by saying I am so tired… can I just sit down and have a little rest?
Have you experienced the same during your summer camps?
Some of our students left this week… they still achieved remarkable results and one of them even got a platinum award, the first time since we opened our centre.
We had our certificate presentation and as usual we had some joyful tears and lots of hugs from students and parents… but I am still wondering why it was so hard this time?

  2. Szia Kasey,

What a loving comment… straight from the heart. Thank you! It means a lot to me. I was so pleased to see your new blog.
I got really excited about this new energy, which is planted by you into our very small world of CE blogging. I feel and I know that it will be an excellent one. May it shine forever…
    With Love, Judit

  3. i have to say i have felt the same in the past few months... why is everyone so tired? The children, as always have done so well and worked so hard but just seem to be a little listless (i think that is the right word). To be honest i think it was a similar feeling amongst staff too (which then is the chicken and which the egg - did we make them tired or did they make us tired?). But i don't know why! Just hoping now that i can re-energise myself and them for the return to work in a fortnight!

  4. Dear Jules,
Thank you for your comment. Something more universal must have been going on than the influences between staff and children.
You are right… we could uplift or we could bring each other down… and sometimes we are not even aware that we are doing it.
It felt more like there was something in the air or in the atmosphere that affected our energy fields. One of our children slept through the whole certificate presentation, which is the highlight of the course in the eyes of the children.
Maybe we will know in hindsight…
    Take care. Judit
